Closed Circuit Televisions (CCTV's)
Radio Units
In a special arrangement with Radio Information Service, special radios
are available in some Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh locations for use by
people who are unable to read standard print materials.
TDD Telephone Reference Service
Patrons using a telecommunications display device (TDD) should call
TDD Public Telephone
A public pay phone equipped with a TDD is located at the Main Library as
part of the first floor phone bank inside the entrance.
Large Monitors
Each locations of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh has at least one 20"
computer monitor to provide a degree of screen enlargement when searching
the library catalog or the World Wide Web. Large monitors are also available
at the Children's Department, the New & Featured, Film, Music, and Audio Department,
the Pennsylvania Department, and
Reference Services at the Main Library.

Audiocassette Materials
Recorded books are available in all locations of Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh
as well as in the Main Library. Audiocassettes are included in Caroline,
the library's catalog. You can limit your Caroline search so that it retrieves
only audiocassettes. Ask a librarian if you need help.
Large Print Books
Large print books are available in the "New & Featured" department on
the first floor of the Main Library and in all CLP locations. More than
13,000 large
print books are currently listed in the catalog.
Talking Books and Braille Materials
The Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped
loans cassette and disc books, as well as the equipment to play them, to
eligible persons in Western Pennsylvania. LBPH can also assist you in obtaining
braille materials.
Described Videos
The Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped
also loans videos which have been adapted for the enjoyment of individuals
